Food Glorious Food

Well today was the day for celebrations. The Fete was bigger and better than expected so we had some serious catching up to do and some extra serious cake eating.

My dear friend organized the whole "High Tea". It was fantastic. Lots of yummy goodies and lots of very hard workers celebrated the success.

I've been at school all day with one thing or another. One of the helpers handed me a dozen fresh eggs just before I picked up the kids from school. You know what we're having for dinner tonight...........too easy.

I'm really looking forward to winding down - I really need to focus on me for a change. Bring it on I say - bring it on!!!!!!

Thank you all for your support I really appreciate it.

WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for those of you who have been following my blow by blow on our School Fete - I have appreciated the words of encouragement.

Well yesterday was the big day - after 11 months in the making our Fete took place. The weather forecast all last week said 22 degrees and showers - that was up til Saturday where they said 31 degrees and late showers. Holy Cow!!!! What a turn around.

The weather turned out to be fantastic. A little overcast, fairly warm with a sprinkling of the minutest of showers - blink and you would miss it type stuff.

I was so organized - up til I got to the school - I had people asking me questions left, right and centre - however everthing fell into place nicely. After months of asking for help everyone pooled together on the day for a huge success. We out did ourselves and made a HUGE profit.
The community spirit displayed was excellent - the kids rides were the biggest drawcard, the food was beautiful, plenty of different stalls - lots for the whole family.

So you could say I'm done today. Just really enjoying the peace and quiet and not "having" to do anything. It was really weird this morning - I went shopping for the first time in a long time and I didn't have to price anything - I was shopping just for me!!!!! It's funny you dont realize how much of your time and mind these things consume. All very worth it though. Everyone was on a high yesterday - it was a hoot!!!!! I can honestly say I would not organize another fete though - happy to help but not to be in control and have the responsibility of the whole thing.

So there you go - a great, fun day!!!!!

Luv Sandie

(P.S Ooooh I almost forgot to share - The Parish Priest is putting on a "High Tea" as a thank you tomorrow morning. I cannot wait - look out cake here I come!!!!!!)

What have you all been up to

Well you all know what I've been up to with this fete - its only 4 more sleeps - or lack of sleeps probably............LOL.
It's amazing how much work goes into just one day - its like organizing a wedding. We have been working on things since November 07 so nearly a year. Amazing!!!! Wish I was getting paid for the hours I've put in...............LOL.

Tell me what's new at your place. I will try and drop into everyone's blog next week when I am winding down and relaxing.

Just popping in quickly.................

.................I have been flat out with Fete stuff again today. I was at school all day except 30 mins to pop home for something to eat and then back to school again. Getting there now. Marking off things on my list and then making another list...........you know how it is!!!!!!

Just wanted to say what a lovely time I had yesterday with Melissa Frances. I was so honoured to be able to go and meet her. Her story is truly amazing. She opened the day with a brief story about her battle with breast cancer. It was a real eye opener to all of us in the room. She is one tough lady. Great story. If you get a chance you can read more on her blog.

I was lucky enough to go along for the day with the lovely and talented Marie and Nicole from Said Simply. We had a bit of a giggle, a bit of a panic attack for me when I had to measure.............LOL.................I dont like to measure especially in inches.............blah!!! Luckily Nicole helped me out there before I had kittens...........LOL.

We were also lucky enough to get some photos of us girlies. What a great photo of Melissa. (Thanks for the photos Marie)

I will treasure this day forever.

Luv Sandie
(P.S. Gosh looking at these photos I think I will use this as my "before" shot on my journey to losing weight - since organizing this fete I have piled on some weight - so I think its time for the new me)

Life is pretty hectic at the moment

I have had such a busy day today. I am right in the thick of things organizing this Fete. It is Sunday week and I am counting down the days - I still have a lot to do but I'm getting anxious. I keep saying "don't sweat the small stuff" but its all the "small stuff" that takes up most of my time. Oh well. Getting there!!!

I'm off to Paperific this Friday and really looking forward to getting away from it all and then on Monday of course I head off to see Melissa Frances. Yay.

Remember When Blog

Here is a little tag I made today for Remember When Blog. Rach kindly dropped some new goodies off to me the other night. So I had a play and came up with this cute little birdie tag.

I have used inks directly onto the laser cut, added a button, some ripped cardstock and a handmade tag.

Friendship Cannot Be Measured Only Treasured

Here is a card that I created for a Card Sketch over at Little Scrapbook Shop - we had to use habby items again.

I created the flowers using 2 different sized buttons and added a suffolk puff centre for each one. I also used a vintage orange trim and an old tape measure.

Luv Sandie

I LUV APPLES

Here is a canvas I completed this weekend in conjunction with Little Scrapbook Shop October Cybercrop Challenge. The theme for this month's challenges is "Haberdashery" so I have added all bits and pieces form my habby stash. Fabric, felt, trims, buttons, pins etc. I must say I had stacks of fun with this challenge.

As you can see I DO luv apples. I have a nice collection of all types of apples in my kitchen - from china, wood, clay, wire etc - you name it I probably have it in the way of apples. There is just something about them that makes me happy. So I will have to make way for this little canvas now - it will fit right in!!!!

TFL - hope you are having a beaut weekend.

Better late than never

Gosh I've been meaning to pop this up on my blog for a couple of weeks now.
You may remember we had "Talk Like A Pirate Day" at Said Simply in Warragul a few weeks ago. Well this is the name badge I made for myself to wear on the day. I have used the fantastic Rusty Pickle stamps and a few bits and pieces and of course in my signature colours red and green - of course!!!!
I have also added one of Nicole's photos of us silly nuts out the front of Marie's shop - of course we had to dress up for the day didn't we? LOL.

I must say I've never really been into the "pirate thing" of course unless we're talking of Jack Sparrow - Johnny Depp............LOL but it was stacks of fun. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

Luv Sandie

(P.S. Dont know why the badge is on its side - its not in My Pictures.............oh pooh cack)

If Friends Were Flowers I'd Pick You

Here is a card I made using bits and pieces. Firstly I found a little graph book and just knew I had to have it at the time - so I tore a page out for the background. I then attached some gree/white gingham and an old tape measure from the op-shop. Next I added some of my Handmade Daisies and added some button centres, the little felt flowers were from a flea market - I just love these. I also stamped a journal stamp by Pink Paislee, the bee is by Amazing creations and I did some doodling too.

Thanks for popping in.

Weekly Sketch No. 5 - Take Time To Enjoy The Simple Things In Life

That's my motto!!!!!

I have used up some more scraps I've had in my stash for quite some time. This pp by Basic Grey is my all time fave. I just love the colours - they are so funky.

I just cut them up into pieces and put them all together. I stamped the little bird by HeroArts, the little tree is by Inque Boutique and the snail by Kaiser oh and the quote is by HeroArts too. I seem to use this quote stamp a lot but I like it.

Thanks for looking.

Luv Sandie

(P.S. As you can see I've added a few more bits and pieces to the sketch - but hey - the rules are "there are NO rules" LOL!!!)
Just added Leesa's card to the top - well done Leesa and thanks heaps for joining in.

I Love Apples

Next card for World Card Making Day. This time it's for a challenge I found at Torn Paper

The Challenge was to use "apples" on a card. Well hello - I just happen to absolutley love apples.

So here is my card.

The apple stamp is by Sassafrass Lass - stamped it 3 times in red and once in green. For the centre of the green apple I used an apple eyelet that I bought years ago - just the thing for the centre of the apple. I also used some red/white gathered gingham, brads, the new Fiskars Threading Water punch and my good old dymo label using red tape with "I love apples" of course!!!!!
Had fun with this one.
Luv Sandie

Thanks So Much

Here is another card completed for World Card Making Day.

I called on my scraps this time - some leftover Adornit patterned paper, stamps by October Afternoon, StampinUp and Amazing Creations. Orange/white gathered gingham ribbon and some kindyglitz. I also added a doodled border to the blue card to tie in with the swirls on the pp.

Thanks for poppin in!!!!!

I have also added a white flower to which I stamped a HeidiGrace flower stamp in the centre using brown StazOn then I added one of my Handmade Daisies and a button. I also added a nice white ribbon I found in an op-shop and added a pearl pin to the centre. Oh and some brads and some pearls by Kaiser. The sentiment stamp is by StudioG.

Thanks for looking.

My first card for World Card Making Day

Little Scrapbook Shop have some challenges for World Card Making Day. The first one was to make a Chrismtas Card - so that is just what I did!!!!

Here it is - I have used a christmas embossing folder in my Cuttlebug and sanded the green card - this is a white core card. I then added a wide white organza ribbon, sewed on 3 large beads to resemble holly, then I stamped out Merry Christmas and the holly leaves from my new set of Kaiser Christmas stamps. Oh and I also sewed on some little red seed beads for holly.

Off to make some more cards. Yay!!!!
Edited: Just added a card for the Birthday Card Challenge. Kelly Panacci pp, mauve/white gathered gingham, October Afternoon stamp and alphas and one of my Handmade Daisies.
