Handmade Roses

Here's some cards I created a few months back. They were going to be for a Card Class but it didn't go ahead. So here they are for your viewing now. As you can see - plenty of rustic stuff goin' on. My latest thing is to staple my daisies in place - it's easy and effective.

I love the pp and the little flowers were so easy to make.
Thanks for looking.

Christmas In July - Day 7

Boy do I have some catching up to do. Note to self: get organised!!!!! LOL!!!!

Day7 - you will need to create a card

Merry - you need to creat a card with the word "Merry" on it - how you do it - is up to you.

(For my card I have recycled last year's Christmas Bon Bons. I cut it up, popped it through my Cuttlebug (star pattern) and added some ribbons and staples - that's it - very quick and simple)

Christmas In July - First Day!!!!! Yay!!!!!

Well here we are - it's the kick off day on our Christmas Card journey for "Christmas In July".

Every day I will set a new challenge for you to create a card - we're getting in early with our Christmas cards instead of leaving it all to the very end.........arghhhh!!!!

So for today's card

Create a card using a "Cuttlebug" or dry embossing if you don't have a cuttlebug

(This is my card using my new embossing folder by Tim Holtz - I just love it. I have also used some scraps of ribbon, ric-rac, felt flowers and other bits and pieces - It was funny how this card came together - I was going through my red ribbon stash and found just little bits that I couldn't throw out - I love using up little bits)

You can sign up anytime you like during the challenge and just catch up - as a new day begins I will pop up the new challenge so be sure to keep popping back in to check. I will be playing catch-up myself I'm sure!!!!!

Thanks for joining in.

Weekly Challenge at Scrapz Biz

I completed these 2 cards for a weekly challenge over at Scrapz Biz.
Our challenge was to create a card with a decorative edge. I used a bracket stamp to create the second card and the first card (also using my new Daisy colour - "teal") was created using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.
Unfortunately due to our internet server being down last night - arghhhhh, I didn't get to load them into the gallery on time - however, I still wanted to include them as I was pleased how they turned out.

I have used my all time fave pp - October Afternoon.
Thanks for taking a look.
Hope you have the bestest day.

Hey Birdie Collection by Kaisercraft

Look at one of the NEW gorgeous ranges by Kaisercraft. It's called "Hey Birdie Collection" and I have to say that I just love, love, love it!!!!!
Here I have created a card for the Little Scrapbook Shop's 5th Birthday celebrations.
We had a sketch to follow so I just knew I had to use the new papers that I picked up at Picture 2 Page show yesterday. I had a blast at this great little show - I have been going every year for the past 5 years I think. It's a beauty and I always look forward to it and it never lets me down. I picked up a few bargains actually which was nice.
Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Quick Card With A QuicKutz Die

(Please excuse the sideways images - Blogger loves doing this to me sometimes!!!!)

I had to make some last minute Christmas cards - so out of character for me to do that - NOT!!!!! LOL!!!!!
I picked up a great free catalogue from one of my fave stationery shops "Kikki.K", their catalogues are always filled with yummy things - especially at Christmas time - plenty of my "wish list" that's for sure.

Anyway, I was flicking through the catalogue and thought "hey, I could use some of these pages with a christmas die-cut" - so I got to and used the die and Cuttlebug and one of the pages from the catalogue.
Bingo, bango there we are - one rather earthy Christmas card. I was really happy how it turned out and wanted to share it with you. I added double sided tape to every second section to give it dimension.
It's always fun "thinking outside the square".

Christmas Cards All Year Round - December

These are the cards that I created for 'Christmas Cards All Year Round' - somehow I don't think my email reached Deanne on time so I thought I'd share them with you anyway.

The Challenge was to use 3 layers of patterned paper
2 embellishments and
1 sentiment
These cards will double as my "12 Weeks Of Christmas Challenge".
Thanks for looking.

NAUGHTY AND NICE!!!!!

I just wanted to share this card that I created today. The idea came to me as I was lovingly devouring some Dove chocolates - you know the new ones that are individually wrapped? Of course you do. If you are a serious chocohollic like me you would know what I'm talking about........LOL!!!!

So here we are. I used some old buttons and covered them with the Dove wrappers - I just trimmed about a centimeter from around the edge.

Now the "Nice" part of the "Naughty AND Nice" is the I have used a recycled yoghurt lid - the foil part. I whipped it through my Cuttlebug using the circle embossing folder. Pretty cool huh?

I used a bronzy cardstock to co-ordinate with the bronze in the wrapper and added a bronzy/brown ribbon and silver button and star.

That's it - easy peasy!!!

12 Weeks Til Christmas Challenge -4 Weeks to Go

Righto - I have some serious catching up to do. How about you? Have you been making any cards for my "12 Weeks of Christmas" challenge? If you have be sure to pop back in and let me know so you can go in the draw to win some of my new Handmade Daisies collection.

Here is my card for this week.

Sometime ago this year I created the pink/green combo cupcake card and thought I'd use the same idea to create a Christmas Cupcake card. There's nothing wrong with being inspired by your own work to create something similar.

So there you go - come on - how are those Christmas cards going?????????????

Looking back……………..

Just wanted to show you some quick and easy cards that I have made over the last year. Thought this may help get you enthused about making your own Christmas Cards.

I was especially pleased how the first card turned out – I just used a cheap candy cane from the $2 Shop for the “J”.

I was also happy how the orange/earthy cards turned out – these were published in Creative Paper Magazine last Christmas. These cards also came together really quickly.

If you are inspired by any of these cards – let me know and share your creation with everyone by commenting to this post with a link to your blog.

12 Weeks Til Christmas Challenge - 5 Weeks To Go

Yet another pink card for the weekly challenge.

For this card I have used my embossing folder in my cuttlebug to create the backing for this card - I have also used kraft cardstock for a change. I stamped the angel stamp twice - once onto pink bazzill cardstock and then again onto kraft cardstock and just cut the kraft heart out and mounted it with double sided foam tape. Then I just stamped the little sentiment onto pink cardstock.

Very simple and very quick. Gotta luv that!!!!!

Thanks for looking.

12 Weeks Til Christmas Challenge - 7 Weeks to Go

For this card I have used my Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background - love these funky circles. I also used my wonderful Nestabilities die cuts and then I used an old, old christmas stamp. I used to stamp this in reds and greens but thought I'd go the pink/brown combo. I then fisished it off with some kindyglitz which just made it stand out that little bit more.

Thanks for looking.
