WORLD CARD MAKING DAY

Yes - that's right!!!  Today is World Card Making Day.  All over the world card makers will be creating away - in groups, with friends or even on your own.  It doesn't matter - just go crazy and make cards.  Perhaps you could make a start on your Christmas card (note to self - start Christmas cards.....LOL).

So to help celebrate I am giving away some of my daisies.  The winner will get to choose a colour combo of their own.

So I dug up some of my old sketches (and very sketchy they are too..........LOL). 

You can interpret these as you like - you may turn them sideways and you can add whatever you like.

Have fun and leave me a comment to this post with a link to your creation or drop me an email with a photo that I can share with everyone. Deadline will be Saturday 8th October.

World Card Making Day - WINNER ANNOUNCED!!!!

It's finally here. The build up on blogs over the last few weeks has been huge.

World Card Making Day - 2 Sketches 4 You

This is my card created for World Card Making Day over at 2 Sketches 4 You.

We had to use a special sketch created for the day .

I have used my new K & Company "Carolyn Gavin" Designer Paper which mind you I didn't want to cut into but I took the plunge. I absolutely luv this range - the colours are so bright and vibrant - very funky!!!!!

I also used K & Co "Baubles" in the centre of one of my Handmade Daisies.

World Card Making Day - Set of Christmas Cards - SCRAPZ BIZ

Our next challenge was to make a mini set of Christmas Cards. The idea was for them to be nice and easy and nice and quick.

I have to say that they were easy - I just kept to the same theme pretty much.

I used blue/green/kraft cardstock, some patterned paper, cuttlebug trees, buttons, brads, trims.

You have to give these a try - they are just the cutest little things.

All you need for the base cards is one sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock. Cut it in half and then cut each of those halves into 3. There you go 6 cards ready for the decorating.

World Card Making Day - Square Cards

Our next challenge at Scrapz Biz was to create a funky square card.

I came up with these 3 cards using Basic Grey "Lime Rickey" which I have to say I just love as the colours are so fresh and bright.

World Card Making Day - Card Patterns

Another challenge - another card. Gosh I'm enjoying getting into creating again.

The challenge was to use Sketch No. 35 over at Card Patterns

I have used Basic Grey pp - Bittersweet and matching brads, the journal stamp is by Kaiser, the bracket brad by Kelly Panacci, the sentiment stamp by ?? - can't remember. Added a nice brown leaf trim for the bottom of the sketch and of course my Handmade Daisies - Chocoalte and Baby Pink - I also used a Glimmer Mist "Pink Bubblegum"on my Baby Pink Daisy to create a pearlescent/shimmery finish - it came out really nice.

WCMD Scrap Biz

Here are another 2 cards created for challenges at Scrapz Biz.

One was a Card Sketch Challenge so I went for a vintage feel.

The second one was to use a layered look - the challenge was to create a ladybird card but I went a step further to creat a Christmas Tree instead.

WCMD Acetate Card

Well this is a FIRST for me. I managed to make an acetate card for a challenge over at Scrapz Biz. Yay for me I say!!!! LOL!!!!

I have used WR Memory Keepers "White Out" Collection PP - one of my faves and other little bits and pieces.

WCMD Scrapz Biz

Here is a card I created for a challenge over at Scrapz Biz.

It was a Recipe Challenge which meant we had to use

red, buttons, spots and string.

So of course - like most of my cards - my fave recipe would be red and green and of course I just HAD to make an apple card.....hehe!!!!
