Craft Queen

I decided to use up some of Nicole's beautiful ribbons that have been sitting on my desk - you know me by now, I simply can't throw even the smallest pieces of ribbon out.  So - I got to and made this card.

I also used Distress Stain for the Doily - loved the deep colour green it turned out.  I was inspired by the small scrap of daisy patterned paper I had leftover from a card yesterday and it all came together nicely.

Happy creating.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day 1

Day 1's challenge was to FIRST - clean up our desk. Now this was a mammoth task for me as I had all sorts of goodies leftover from the dash to complete my Christmas cards - we are talking a couple of days to sort through everything.
Secondly, the challenge was to use up bits and pieces from our clean up to create a layout and it also had to include 3 flowers - I naturally recovered some Handmade Daisies which were buried on my desk.
thanks for looking.

Quick Card With A QuicKutz Die

(Please excuse the sideways images - Blogger loves doing this to me sometimes!!!!)

I had to make some last minute Christmas cards - so out of character for me to do that - NOT!!!!! LOL!!!!!
I picked up a great free catalogue from one of my fave stationery shops "Kikki.K", their catalogues are always filled with yummy things - especially at Christmas time - plenty of my "wish list" that's for sure.

Anyway, I was flicking through the catalogue and thought "hey, I could use some of these pages with a christmas die-cut" - so I got to and used the die and Cuttlebug and one of the pages from the catalogue.
Bingo, bango there we are - one rather earthy Christmas card. I was really happy how it turned out and wanted to share it with you. I added double sided tape to every second section to give it dimension.
It's always fun "thinking outside the square".

Using Up Scraps

(Cards created just using up those little bits and pieces you would normally throw out)
(These were the first 2 cards I created and then used up the leftovers on the other cards)

Using up scraps is one of my fave things to do. I just love the challenge of looking at even the smallest bit of scrap paper and seeing what I can create with it. Especially if it is a favourite patterned paper that I simply cannot throw in the bin.

So here is a set of cards I created after making these 2 card - the entire set was created from a sheet of patterned paper measuring 8.5inches x 8.5 inches.
Have a go yourself - not only do you use all those little bits up - but just look how many different cards you can create.

Remember I said I challenged myself to use of some scraps on my desk…………….well…………

………………….I did!!!!

I had an extra busy day Friday creating Mothers Day Cards for the local florist - nothing like leaving things to the last minute!!!!!! I managed to make some cards using the said scraps from my desk. Even some of the smallest pieces I simply couldn’t bear to throw out came in handy.

It really is amazing and a great challenge to see what you can come up with.

A couple of the cards – the ones with the heart punches and cuttelbug embossing were inspired by Jennifer McGuire.

Thanks for looking – keep watching for more scrappy cards.

Remember – the rules are – there are NO rules!!!!!! You know when I look back over my cards - there is always a certain style that pops up again and again - but you know what - if it works - go for it!!!!!

Luv ya……………….Sandie
