Four Seasons - up close and personal........LOL!!!!!

Here are the close up shots of each season. Sorry about the images - its hopeless trying to take shots at night.

Here they are.

Four Seasons Card Set

I have created these 2 cards for a sketch challenge over at Triple The Sketch.

I started by turning to sketch on its side and the going from there.

I have used the yummy BG patterned paper "Mellow - Deciduous" This would have to be one of my all time faves.

Then I grabbed 4 Making Memories "Cheeky Jigsaw" frames and inked up each one in red/orange/brown and green. I used kraft cardstock as the backing for each frame. The first 3 tree stamps are by See D's Inque Boutique - another fave of mine, and the blossom tree is by Pink Paislee - I stamped this 2 times, once onto kraft cs and cut out and then onto orange cs and then cut out flower individually.

The "winter" frame I added some white puff paint - waited for it to dry and then heated it to "puff it up". I have added some tiny alphas that I stamped out, cut out and inked each edge - boy did that get tricky - so these formed the names of the seasons - summer, autumn, winter and spring. I have used doubled sided foam tape here and there to give dimension, in paticular to the backs of the frames so they sit up.

I am really happy with these 2 cards - thinking I might sit them on the dresser in the kitchen - they are bright and cheery.

Just Like Brothers.

This photo is of Josh and Mizuki - our Japanese student that stayed with us last year. Josh misses Mizuki terribly - they were "just like brothers".

I have created this layout just using brown/blue combo of a challenge at All Craftz.

I have hand drawn and cut the scalloped edge felt using a denim felt. I have also added some hand stitching around the edge and ric-rac and buttons. I also cut a felt dingbat shape and added a button for the centre. Hand journalling around the outside of the frame.

The title was created using Delish stamps for "just like" and the chipboard letters are from Bella to which I sanded and distressed. The brackets are from Bella too - I inked and stamped directly onto them.

I am happy how this one turned out - Josh has already claimed this layout for his wall in his bedroom. Must get onto framing it for him.

Bloom Where You're Planted Fan

Here is a fan I made today for a challenge over at All Craftz.

I used a template from Mirkwood Designs Templates. Cut 8 blades from MME pp, stamped HeidiGrace flourish and flower stamps directly onto pp, added some bling by Kaisercraft.

Added some Prima flowers with buttons and then also added some green and red beads. Oh and the centre of the large cream flower is a snap by We R Memory Keepers that I won in a competition a while ago.

Thanks for looking.

Page 6 - "Tree's Company"

Here we have the final page and I must admit I love this page especially the photo.

The journaling down the bottom reads "what is it with our kids and trees?"...........LOL.........it was funny when I was looking for a theme for this album - these photos all jumped out. I am really pleased how it all came together.

Righto for this challenge we had to use 2 different pp's - I have used Basic Grey and Making Memories and 2 different fonts - so I used Vinyl Thickers and Delish stamps. I have also added ribbon, punched leaves, chipboard tree, live laugh love stamp by Inque Boutique and staples

This photo was taken also at Drysdale under a gorgeous old Weeping Willow Tree.......our kids love Weeping Willows and always point them out as we are driving along. This one they got up close and personal with............gotta luv em!!!!!

Thanks for looking at my album.

Page 5 - Drysdale

This challenge we had to use stamps and no patterned paper so I sought of continued on from page 4 and kept the earthy tones happening.

The windmill stamp is by Northwoods Rubber Stamps - I luv it. The fence stamp I stamped a couple of times then cut it out and added some doubled sided foam tape to give it dimension the stamp is by FernGully Stamps, Kaisercraft journalling stamp and the heading is done with Delish stamps - kept this one fairly simple too however I was pleased how it turned out.

Page 4 - Livin The Good Life

Right for this challenge we had to use stamping to enhance our layout.

So I have used my Poppy Ink stamp again - luv it!!!!! Other stamps are by Inque Boutique, Kaisercraft and See D's. I have also added another chipboard tree - these are adorable little trees - I just left it raw as I like the earthy feel of this layout. Very simple layout this one.

Page 3 - Hoo's Crazy?

For this layout the challenge was to use a "silhouette" photo. Now this was a challenge as I've never done this before but thought I'd give it a crack!!!!!

I used the photo of the girls again. Lots of hand drawn/cut things, stamped bird/mushrooms/journalling stamp, owl, arrow etc.

Page 3 - Bloomin Mad

For this challenge we had to refer to a Colour Wheel and pick opposite colours so I chose - pink and green. Luv these colours.

So I have used the base green card and added doodling, the frame was hand drawn/cut and doodling added, Foam Thickers added for the title, icy pole sticks were used for the stems of the flowers - I inked them using a green inkpad and then added some more doodling and the flowers were stamped and cut and a button attached - flower stamp by Fontwerks "Elsie Flannigan"

oh and 2 pegs up the top to tie in with the pink pegs in Tammy's hair. Hand journalling added too.

Page 2 - "2 Funny"

For the first page the challenge was to create a layout using handcut/drawn scalloped card, some stitching and some journalling.

So for this layout I have pretty much drawn everything and cut it out added some stitching and doodling oh and we had to include a little bit of bling so I simply detailed the clouds with some KindyGlitz. I really love the tree with the heart.......gotta luv hearts!!!!!

So here is page 2

As I mentioned on the weekend

As I mentioned on the weekend I took part in a 3rd Birthday Cybercrop over at Little Scrapbook Shop. One of the challenges was to create a 6 x 12 album which I'd never done before. I'm luving this new size - its very funky.

I have already shown my cover but I re-took the photos outside today and they are a lot clearer so I am uploading them again.

The beauty of this challenge was not only something new but it was also defiantely challenging.

Each Design Team member then gave us a different challenge to create 6 pages for the album.

So I am now going to show you my pages. I will make a new post for each page as I can only upload 5 photos at a time.............so.................stay tuned for the rest of the pages.

I'm thinking of making a few more of these albums as I had so much fun.

Righto so this post is the front cover.

I used Basic Grey pp, hand drawn/cut frame, chipboard tree inked with brown ink from Handprint, pegs, flowers, trim, ladybird and my new stamp from Poppy Ink - that's the big leafy one to the left....inked edges that's about it I think.

I ADORE U

Last year I was very lucky to win a competition at Crafting In Style. My prize was to have a layout scrapped by the very talented Tash Allen. How cool!!!!!!!!

So by the time I got around to chosing a photo - a looooooooooooooong time, Tash was expecting her second baby - even more exciting. So it has taken a long time (not on Tash's behalf) to have this gorgeous layout returned to me.
The pizza box arrived at the door and this is what I found when I opened it up.

I was just standing there looking at it. Thank you so, so much Tash. Its simply stunning!!!!! I absolutely love, love, love the colours you have chosen. They are so regal looking. I just love everything and I cant wait to have it framed and have on display.

If you get a chance do yourself a favour and pop on over to Tash's blog and check out her creations - they are all fantastic and very inspiring.

Thanks again Tash............luv ya Sandie
(P.S. I almost forgot this is a photo that I took of Em and I after Em's Confirmation this time last year..........I loved the photo as it was just won of those spur of the moment ones - I just held out the camera and snapped it. Oh and I also have to add some journalling to it too.)

Monday at "The Barn"

Here is today's card that I made for Remember When's Blog.
I have used one of the laser cuts "Fresh Flower Corner" and added a couple of coats of a fushcia pink acrylic paint.
Next I punched an oval scallop punch from white card. Stamped "fabulous" from Fontwerks "Elsie Flannigan" range using TimberBrown StazOn ink. I then added some doodling around the edge of the scallop. Cut 2 slits either side of the scallop to thread the brown ribbon through and secured a knot on the face of the card.
Created a square card using white cardstock and then cut a piece of Making Memories patterned paper for front of the card and then assembled everything.

A quick and easy card.

Grow - Kai Jacob "Our Little Miracle"

As I've mentioned before - this is my little nephew Kai Jacob. He had a lot of troubles at birth and we nearly lost him. He has a few disabilities but he doesn't let that stop him.

He brings happiness to whoever he meets. The doctors are simply amazed at what he can do.

I took these photos of him last year (I used a couple in a layout I completed last year but couldn't resist putting these shots altogether for a layout over at Little Scrapbook Shop)

So here he is............isn't he gorgeous?

I have used a diecut shape by Making Memories as the pp, navy cardstock for the base of the layout and then I have added pink flowers, ribbon, stamps and bling. The journalling stamp is by KaiserCraft. I love the little flower pin too - not sure who makes him.

Tree People

Here is the cover of a 12 x 6 album I completed today. I handcut the frame and added some doodling around it, the pp is by Baisc Grey "deciduous" I have also added AC Foam Thickers, pegs to tie in with the pegs in the girls hair..........LOL, the chipboard tree is by Handprint Art Stamps, and the large branch stamp has been stamped and cut out - its by Poppy Ink....I just love this stamp.

I had stacks of fun making this cover and I am looking forward to making some pages to go in the album.

Use ONE patterened paper range and make THREE different cards

Hmmmm not as easy at is sounds but I managed to come up with 3 different ones.

I have used Fancy Pants "Daydreams" range "Wish, Imagine and Envision" I simply love these papers and didn't really want to cut into them. I'm glad I did though.

I have used some funky chipboard circles by Remember When and the heart circle from Maya Road. Stamps by StampinUp, HeroArts and Image Tree. I really like the flourish one "For My Friend" I painted the flourish with acrylic paint and then used a flourish stamp and acrylic paint to each corner.

TFL.
