I have to share this story with you.

I have been wondering for sometime what a paticular item was that people were showcasing their cards in.

I spotted one on Scripture By Deisgn's Blog and asked the question "what is it?"

Casey kindly replied to my query and explained it was a vintage item used to hold flowers in place in a vase - back in the "good old days". Aha...........that makes sense now.

What Casey also did was give me a link to one on Ebay. I placed a bid and what do you know - I won. (I also one the glass one too. I shall just pop that on my shelf somewhere with all my other old things)

The best bit is I won it for only 99cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolute bargain of the century me thinks............LOL.

Here it is. The next time you see it - it will be holding one of my cards. Wahooooooo!!!!!

Lucky me.

Look what arrived in the mail today

These are just the cutest little creatures.

I have them sitting on the shelf in front of my computer monitor - such happy little faces.

Friends Forever

Here is my card (finally) for the letter “K'” for my Alphabet Soup and Monday Mornings challenge.

It is also a challenge I undertook at Scrapbook Capital.

Lorrie asked who would like to participate in a Mystery Challenge – why not? So she sent through the 3 different strands of embroidery thread.

This is the card that I created. I have added straight stitching and some french knots. It was stacks of fun.

Thanks for looking.

You may have noticed............

that I haven't been around much lately.

Well it's all happening around our place. Sean has 2 weeks off - last week and this week and we have been cracking on our pergola.

Sean's very much the handyman which is great and he made a start last week on the plans for our pergola and it has been full steam ahead since.

We are both a bit stiff and sore - feeling our age.....LOL but I gotta say it has all been worth it.
We still have a ways to go but we have a roof over it and we can now sit and have cuppas outside at least.

I think we are getting stuck into some painting tomorrow.

I must say I am missing creating in my craft room - but I am creating another great room outside that we can spend many hours relaxing and entertaining.

I will share some photos when I think to take some...........LOL.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.

There's nothing like...............................

a visit with a dear friend!!!!! Especially when you haven't seen that dear friend for the longest time.

I made a trip over to Mornington today to catch up with my friend Andrea. I arrived right on lunch time. Andrea had made the bestest Potato and Leek Soup and we had some nice crunchy bread to go with it, oh and a couple of nice cuppas to boot!!!!!

We caught up on all there was to catch up on as it has been TOO long since our last catch up.

We are going to try and make a deal that our visits become a little closer than what they have in the past.

I have lots to think about now to keep me going - it was just the thing I needed to lift my spirits.

Thanks for a great day Andrea!!!! Say gidday to those boys of yours.

Luv ya.

Paperific

(Thanks to Hayley - Jo's daughter for taking this photo - Anita, Jo and Sandie)
Well I am one tired little black duck tonight after a fun-filled day.
I set off for Melbourne a little later than planned - after the train ride in - just over an hour and then about 35 mins tram ride - not too bad really I suppose. You know what it was like as a kid and you'd be thinking "are we there yet?" Well that was me. "Come on - we must be getting closer".

So I rock up, walk straight in and deliver some cards that I created for Alison Ellis Designs (they have some new ultra yummy stamps) had a quick chat to Al and Maynard and then started to make my way around the stalls.

I must say that there wasn't as many stalls as the last show - not sure about the 2 shows - time will tell with that idea I suppose.
One of my fave stalls were there - Art Stamps. Always managed to do some serious retail therapy there!!!!!!!!!! Clear stamps galore I tell ya!!!!! I was making a few deals with myself. "Do you really need that one - damn straight you do!!!!!" LOL.
I received a call from the lovely and talented Anita and we caught up for a coffee. I also met Anita's friend and my new found friend Jo (& daughter Hayley) so that was a double bonus!!!!!

Unfortunately Anita's other friend Erica was unable to come as well as her son was sick - pooh cack!!!!!
So all in all it was a fantastic day. I really needed that.
My feet held up reasonably well considering I just had my check up with the podiatrist yesterday. Had a bit of a re-alignment - yeah so like I said - not too bad!!!!
I will take some shots of the bits and pieces that I found tomorrow - me thinks I need to get to bed.
Hope you all have a beaut weekend.
(Oh and I bumped into Tanya - I met Tanya at card classes in Warragul one day and we both remembered each others faces. And my sister in law Melissa - it was great to see you Melissa - well she spotted me!!!)

Luv Sandie
(P.S When I arrived home I had some more goodies waiting for me. Some new bits and pieces from Craft Queen and my Little Scrapbook Prize - photos to follow tomorrow)

Latest creations

These are some creations I made today for the Little Scrapbook Shop Cybercrop.

The card challenge was using a sketch and we needed to make a ribbon background, we also needed to use paper piecing - so I pieced the flower. Oh and only 2 colours (a little black/white if needed) so I went brown and green with a touch of cream.

The layout was to challenge ourselves to make a flourish design and fill it in with bling - so I drew the design and then filled it in with black rhinestones by Kaiser.
This photo is of Tammy and our little "miracle" boy Kai - cousins having a cuddle.
Thanks for looking.

I just found out………………

That I am a winner again.

You may remember that I entered a “Build It Up Challenge” over at Scrapbook Capital. We had a 6 week challenge where a new element needed to be added to our creations each week as well as the previous weeks challenges.

We started with Week 1 – patterned paper, Week 2 – punches or diecuts, Week 3 – distressing, Week 4 - buttons, Week 5 – brads, Week 6 – photo corners.

So there you go – I am blown away. I am on a roll as they say.

I think I need to buy a Tatts ticket………….LOL.

Thanks to Shaz for organising the challenge and to Lorrie for my goodies – wonder what they’ll be.

Using Up Scraps

I was asked a while ago to make some cards. I had to make a boy and a girl baby card and also 2 female cards. I came up with these designs.

I also had leftover patterned paper and decided to make a cupcake card. I used 2 different embossing folders as you can see in the close up shot. I just drew the top of the cupcake freehand and then whizzed it through the good old Cuttlebug – I would be lost without this thing now. I luv it!!!!!

Thanks for popping in.

Card Classes At Said Simply

(This card was created using the slim strip down the side cut from the square card)
(we created this card using up some strips of scrap patterned paper)

(This is a square card - the strip down the side was used to create the slim line card above - we also added some dimensional magic to the crown - don't ya just love the glossy finish?)
I had card classes this morning at Warragul. It was a nice peaceful morning.

We didn't get time to complete the "king for a day" card but this is obviously an easy blokey card - always the hardest to come up with)
Thanks for looking.
NEXT MONTH IS "CHRISTMAS IN JULY" IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN IN THE FUN OF GETTING AN EARLY START ON YOUR CHRISTMAS CARDS, THEN YOU'D BETTER RING MARIE AND BOOK IN FOR THIS CLASS.

What is it with me lately and embarassing stories............

Here I go again!!!!!! LOL!!!!!

I was dishing up dinner tonight and some chips fell off the tray - I quickly pounced on the kids and told them to leave them - "they are mine" I piped in.

Anyway, dinner is served we are all sitting quietly and eating and I had this funny feeling - Tammy was looking at me with a strange look on her face "what's wrong mum?" I replied "oh nothing really"..........and went on thinking in my head that there was something wrong I was just trying to figure out what it was.

I had this rather warm feeling coming from my butt.....................then it dawned on me. I was sitting on the chips that I said were mine.

I burst out laughing once I worked out what it was - the funny feeling was when it just kept getting hotter and hotter..............I was thinking "what could it be, why is this happening?"
I got up off my seat and there they were - the 3 squished chips looking at me!!!!!

LOL!!!!!!! I was crying with laughter trying to explain to everyone what it was that I had done.................LOL.

Definately worth sharing for a laugh I reckon.

How embarassing.
