Birthday Boy

I cannot believe that a year ago I was helping to deliver a baby into the world.

Our little Stephen (as we call him) turned 1 yesterday. I invited George & Medina to have a little party at our house. I made a cake - everyone covered it in Smarties and we popped a No. 1 candle in the middle. Stephen was amazed by the flame of the candle - of course as all little kids are and immediately went to grab it......LOL. As most little toddlers do - he crumbled all his cake on the table. I think he managed a couple of small crumbs before we promptly wiped him clean...........LOL.
It was so nice to be able to spend time with him on his birthday.

I will include some photos soon.

Hugs, Laugh, Love

Here is a card that I created using up lots of bits and pieces. I had a clean up of my craft stash this week and had some bits and pieces just sitting on my desk. Great way of using up things.

I also added a sun to the top corner of the card using an eyelet as the centre and some embroidery thread for the rays. I stamped directly onto the Basic Grey ribbon using HeroArts stamps and StazOn ink. The centre of the flower is actually a washer thingy - technical name I know..........LOL, then I just added a button for the centre.

Thanks for looking.

Look at my latest treasure!!!!

I went op-shopping about a week ago and stumbled across this beauty. It's just so me. It's a Doyley Holder. It's probably form the 60's I'd say - they used to do them back them, cover them with plastic and then stitch around the edges. It even had the good old plastic doyleys in it...........how cool!!!! Lucky me I say and for the bargain price of $1.00.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Oh what a day

I had the bestest day today teaching my cards at Said Simply and dressing up as a pirate for Talk Like A Pirate Day. Marie and Nicole where in fine form today - you should have seen Nicole - she was all dressed up and taking lots of happy snaps of everyone.
I met some new people which was great and I also got to teach my girly pirate cards to 3 young ladies who were very well behaved - well done Georgia, Indi and Maddy - you were a pleasure to teach.
I will take a photo of my name badge that I made for the day and hopefully Nicole will have some photos of the Said Simply blog soon to share as well.

I'm off to bed now as I'm pooped.

(Oh and thanks to Marie who has kindly added a card to my Week 1 sketch - you need to have a look at the Slide at the top of the page)

18th Birthday Card

One of our friend's is 18 today - Happy 18th Christopher. Gosh that seems moons ago for me...........LOL.

I just whipped up this quick card using the Cuttlebug. I embossed the bazzill bling cardstock for the background and then the "18" I embossed from some recycled card and then cut it out and tucked it under the copper wire that I just arranged randomly. Distressed the edges of the card here and there and added some copper brads to each corner. That's it.

Sketch Challenge over at Pernickety

If you get a chance there is also a great sketch over at Pernickety. I just completed a card for it and came up with this one.

I have used an old paper doyley and ripped it - that was the challenge - a ripped flower, no bling, machine sewing (I cheated I used a stamp by HeroArts....LOL) and NO BLING. Hello that is not as easy as I thought...........LOL. OH and the the theme is "music" so I opted for a stem and leaf stamped with a music stamp by FernGully Stamps.

I was happy how this one turned out. I went for the colour combo when I was shuffling through my green pp I stumbled across this one which has a blue smudged edge to it - thought now that's something different.......

I also recycled the piece of the paper doyley that I ripped and used it as a scallop border down the bottom attached with staples.

Thanks for popping in. I luv to see who has been visiting and I luv comments so if you can leave me a comment and I will pop over to your place for a lookie too.

100% FAT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THAT.............LOL!!!!

Here we are - this is a photo of just one of the many cupcakes I have been knitting over the last couple of days all in readiness for the upcoming fete.

Cute little thing - it's about the size of a medium apple.

Thanks for popping in..........luv Sandie

Quick..............while there's time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget you still have time to complete my Weekly Sketch No.2 - just have a look at the top of my blog on the Slide - Weekly Sketches. Once you've created your masterpiece just leave me a comment with a link to your work. I will add it to my Slide for everyone to see.
Thank you to everyone who has been contributing - I just luv to see what you have been creating.

Didn't have a very good sleep last night. I was up at 4.45am this morning so I decided to knit. I have been knitting little cupcakes for our School Fete Craft Stall. They are coming up very nicely. My friend has kindly offered to sew them up for me once I've knitted them - that's a great deal I reckon as I'm not to keen on the sewing part...........LOL. I will be able to share a photo of them soon. May even get around to making a special one just for me.

Hope you all have a great day.

I will be popping up a new sketch tomorrow.

What a busy day.

It's been a rather busy day today. Life is so hectic lately but its all good.
It's Tammy's 12th Birthday today. The day started with giving her the pressies. Dropped the kids off at school spent all morning at our Craft Group creating goodies for the upcoming Fete so that took me through to lunch time. Home for a quick bite and then I had to make Tam's cake - opted for cupcakes on my u-beaut cupcake stand- came up great. While I was baking I put on a video of The American President - I love this film. She loved them anyway that was the main thing. Picked up the kids from school and had afternoon tea for Tam - decided not to have a party as such this year. Sean's mum and dad joined us for dinner which was nice and then we sat around the kitchen table and played cards. We were all a bit crazy tonight - too much sugar me thinks.
That's it for me - this little black duck needs to get some serious sleepies.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Another card..........

I couldn't help myself. I had to create another card for the sketch challenge over at Little Scrapbook Shop. I used the gorgeous "treetops" Cuttlebug embossing folder again. Just kept this one very simple - red glossy card, white brads, white craft tinsel and the stamp is by HeroArts.

Thanks for looking.

Luv Sandie

(P.S. I've gotta say that there are 100's of things I could be doing today - but getting back into a little creating is very calming after such a hectic week or 2)

Righto - here are a couple of cards I made for my Weekly Sketch Challenge.

The pink one was created with an embossing folder using my Cuttlebug. The second one is also using my Cuttlebug - cute little christmas trees!!!!

I always say "best friends" are priceless!!!! This is so true - they are always there for you. It's also nice to be a best friend.

All done and dusted!!!!!

Well the move has been completed. Sean's mum and dad have officially gone now. Everyone pitched in and helped in some way. It was so handy having so many family members helping.
We are all VERY tired however achieved so much in such a short time. They are going to be so happy in their new home - a HUGE change from their motor home that they have been touring Australia in for the last 7 years.

Josh's First Communion was so nice. Josh is a funny fella. He is usually such a little mischief maker - TROUBLE I say!!!!! However, last night he looked very angelic almost - he takes mass very serious and last night was a huge thing for not only us as parents but also for him. It's so nice to see. We were very proud of him. I shall pop some photos up on my blog soon. I'm just a little tired tonight.

Looking forward to chilling a little this week. I have a few projects on the go but nothing I cant handle.

Preparations for the Fete are coming along a bit better now so that is a relief.

Kids finish up for school holidays this Friday - bring it on I say!!!!!!

Hope you have all had a beaut weekend.

Little bid sad - little bit good!!!!!

Well today Sean's mum and dad moved into their brand new home. They have been staying beside us in their motor home since Christmas while their house has been built. We are all going to miss them dearly. Who am I going to ask for a cup of sugar now? I am blessed to have great in-laws and am going to miss the company. It will be back to just little old me.
We are all really pleased for them - its been a long wait but its great.
Sean's brother and the gang and sister and her gang are all arriving tonight to help with the moving tomorrow and then we have Josh's First Communion tomorrow night. Boy are we going to be busy tomorrow. We will have 22 for dinner................arghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! So for me tomorrow is baking and cooking. Cant think of what to do just yet but I'm sure after a good nights sleep things will be clearer. I have had one HUGE week and its only going to get more hectic. It's Tammy's birthday on Tuesday too.
Best get some sleep me thinks!!!!!!!!!!!!
