As I mentioned before I have a competiton going for the month of September for anyone who has purchased my Handmade Daisies. Here are the lovely Vanillla's entries. Well done Vanilla they are so bright and cheery. You can enter as many times as you like.
..............the sun is shining through this morning so I thought I'd get up and take a photo of my card for My Weekly Sketch.
I have gone with an earthy feel for this card - recycled corrugated cardboard, green twine, natural mesh, grossgrain green ribbon, staples, Handmade Daisy, natural wooden button, 2 brassy brads and the "with love" stamp is by EK Success.
How is your card coming along? A new sketch will be up and running on Friday so you have a couple of days to go if you'd like to complete my first sketch.
Here are my 2nd instalment of cards that I have created using the one sheet of S.E.I. patterned paper. I still have probably a 1/3 of the paper leftover so I can create even more cards with it.
Well I just wanted to pop in quickly to say a huge congratulations to Vicky - one of my regular blog visitors. She entered a card in the sketch challenge over at Pernickety and managed to win and score herself a new punch by Fiskars. Good for you Vicky - enjoy your new punch. Hey maybe you could use it on your next card challenge.
Just a reminder to everyone - there is a new sketch challenge up on the Pernickety blog today so be sure to pop in, have a look and then create a card and leave a comment and link to your card. It's that easy!!!!!
This is the card that I created for Monday's Blog at Remember When. I have kept it VERY simple. All I used was Tammy's Christmas Tree No.1 inked it using bright green ink, used different sized brads, some pp by Creative Imaginations "December" and some craft tinsel which I just stapled across the bottom. It took me 10 mins tops. Now it doesn't get much easier than that and that's one of the many Christmas cards I can tick off my list. I must say I just love this funky christmas paper - its very hip and happenin!!!!!
These are some cards that I have made using patterned paper by S.E.I. "Dill Blossom". Different colours than I normally work with but I just love them. I knew when I saw the pp I just HAD to have it. My fave card would have to be the green one with the large "thingy" in the middle of the flower. That "thingy" happens to me a "gromlet" by We R Memory Keepers.
I also challenged myself to use the mustard coloured cardstock which is a huge step for me as its now one of my fave colours. I was pleased how it turned out too - the pp has the mustard colour in the design.
I have made this set of 3 and hoping for another set of 3. See how we go.
Ok I am just reminding you of several things going on with my blog.
*Handmade Daisy competiton - Open for all who have purchased any of my daisies. Complete a tag, card, layout or OTP with one of my daisies and leave a comment and a link to your creation.
*My Weekly Sketch Challenge - due by next Thursday the 11th September Midnight.
*Stamps for Sale - one set SOLD one to go (at this stage until I have a bit more of a clean up...LOL)
Here is a card I just made. It only took me about 15 mins tops.
I bought these gorgeous feathered wings in a cheap shop a couple of weeks ago and have been wondering how I was going to use them. Well it just came to me as soon as I got them out of the pack. They are covered with a fine glitter which is now all over my desk...........LOL.........it looks pretty though. LOL.
I used Making Memories pp, Making Memories Noteworth Glitter Jigsaw shapes - the 2 frames, American Crafts Foam Heart, Bella Brads, Heidi Swapp Plastic Alphabets - which I just love and some KindyGlitz - which is still wet in the shots - but hey I couldn't wait for it to dry to take photos.
A big Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there. We have had a nice morning. The kids brought in breakfast in bed for Sean and I and then gave Sean the goodies for fathers day. Lots of very handy things for the shed and around the house. Then we headed off to a great little market about 2o mins away. We hadn't been there before and it was unreal. We didn't buy much but it was so nice to just stroll around. A nice country feel to it too which was nice. Plenty of stalls and plenty of bargains to be had. Home for lunch to spend it with Sean's dad and mum. Sean made us all a nice latte. Yummo!!!!!
I hope you are having a nice day.
I'm about to create. I created some cards last night and now I am about to have a go at my weekly sketch.
Tadaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! I couldn't help myself girlies. I have started my new Weekly Sketches off today. I was going to wait til Monday.......but hey who knows what I'll be doing then....LOL.
Now those of you who know me will know that I am NOT a perfectionist!!!!!! So you will have to excuse my brilliant sketch skills - hahaha!!!! My favourite technique is "the rustic look" so that is what I've gone with for my first sketch. Completely drawn by hand - can you tell? LOL!!!!!
You can interpret as you like. This is just a starting point. I'm going to be working on mine over the weekend. Can't wait to get stuck into it.
So if you'd like to join me, leave a comment to this post and a link to your blog with your wonderful creation.
Maybe you could make it your FIRST of many Christmas Cards. Come on I dare you!!!!!
Luv Sandie
(Have just added my Tammy's sketch - well done Tam you are a legend!!!!!!!! Thanks for joining in........luv Mum)
Here is a gorgeous card that Leesa has completed. Thanks for joining in Leesa. Well done.
I have been busy in the kitchen today. I have managed to make a Walnut Banana Bread, a Cornflake Slice and Anzac biscuits. The house smells yummy. Wait til the kids come home from school - they are gunna love it.
Haven't been up to too much else today. Trying to take it easy. Been a little stressed over the last week so I'm trying to de-stress. I feel a lot better today I must say.
Now I dont mean to alarm you, but how are your plans for Christmas going?
It's coming around a lot quicker than you think!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you started your Christmas cards yet? And what about the dreaded shopping?
I'm thinking of starting up a sketch challenge for creating Christmas cards. If you are interested leave me a comment and I shall get started on a sketch.
Luv Sandie
(This is one of the cards I created for Remember When last year)
A few months ago I had some cards published in Australian Paper Crafts (which is no longer in publication as they merged with For Keeps). It was Issue 75. I am wondering if anyone has a spare copy they dont need or if you are finished with your copy and no longer need it. Thanks heaps. I missed out on it and like to keep a copy of all my publications.
I am now the proud owner of a Fiskars Stamp Press and I'm just a little bit excited. How cool is it going to be. Lucky me and a huge thanks to Cindy because I popped into her blog one day, noticed the link to the comp and bingo bango - its all mine!!!!! (I just have to say that Cindy is one lucky lady when it comes to wining things so I'm thinkin some of her luck rubbed off onto me....yay) Thanks to Tamara too for supplying such a yummy giveaway.
I received an email on Friday marked "urgent". It was from For Keeps Creative Paper asking me if I would be able to create and submit a set of 6 cards and send them off by to reach them by this friday. Of course - I love a challenge and took them up on the offer. I completed them tonight and they will be making their way tomorrow. I really enjoyed the challenge. Should be in December's issue I think.
I have been happily married to Sean for 18 years. We have 3 great kids, Emily 17, Tammy 16 and Josh 13.
I am a stay at home mum who loves to create cards, scrap and anything basically other than housework.
I have also started my own WHOLESALE BUSINESS selling my Handmade Daisies. Click on the photo on my personal blog.
Thanks for dropping in....luv Sandie
