One down - one to go.

Well I've done it. I have made Em's friend's birthday card.

I have used Crate Paper "bubblegum" pp, one of my daisies the leaf stamp is by Fontwerks, the flourish stamp is by StampinUp and the "happy birthday" stamp is by Artee stamps.

I have also used an embossing folder with my Cuttlebug and a little bit of rustic stitching....LOL. That's what I like to call it anyway. I have a paper piercer that I just used to poke some holes and then got my needle and thread out.

Oh and I also added some stickles to the daisy.

That's it I think.

Thanks for looking.

Luv Sandie

How'd ya be?

How is your weekend going so far? I am having a ball already. It has been a very busy week and I'm just glad to be home not doing much at all.

My brother and nephew and his mate just popped in for a quick visit. It was so nice to see him as we haven't caught up for a very long time. He was on his way to take the boys to soccer.
My twin nephews are in State for Soccer. They are excellent. Might see their name up in lights one day. You just never know.

Em has a birthday party to go to this afternoon so I need to get organized with a card. Nothing like leaving things to the last minute..........LOL.

We usually go to mass tonight but we have been invited to a baptism tomorrow. We introduced ourselves to a young couple in our parish. Lovely people. They are from New Zealand. Anyway, they were expecting their first baby and everything was exciting. They had a beautiful little baby boy about 4 months ago I suppose. Lisa rang me during the week to ask our family to be part of the baptism. I was really touched by this. So I had better get organized with a nice card for little Callen too. After the ceremony we have been invited back for lunch. It's going to be a great day.

Nothing else much planned. I think that will just about fill our weekend up somehow.

What are you up to this weekend? Any plans for some creating? Hope so!!!!!

Take care whatever you get up to.

Luv ya.................Sandie

Cut a strip of pink pp using my new Fiskars "threading water" punch and stamped "all things grow with love" by StampinUp.

Hope all is well with you.

Not much creating going on of late.

As you can see there hasn't been a great deal of creating going on in my house lately.

I am trying to get this Fete organized. Gosh there is so much to do, not enough time and unfortunately - not enough help. It is always the way. It will happen I know that but it would be nice to have a little bit more help to ease the pressure a bit.

I am determined to do some creating over the next couple of days though so keep popping in you just never know.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Luv Sandie

A dream come true............

ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to play the flute. I play by ear - I can only just read music but dont like to. I used to be able to jump on a keyboard and just play whatever song came into my head. I just love music.

Anyway, we had a visit from a friend tonight. She was having a clean out for our Fete. Books, cd's, old containers.............and..........in amongst everything a flute. I couldn't believe my eyes.
She said - go through everything and if there is anything you like yourself you can have it, all the other stuff can be donated to the fete. I was totally amazed that there before me was the most beautiful looking flute.

I thought - this cant be for real. I had better give her a ring just to make sure. Sure enough it WAS hers but she hasn't played it for years.

So while I was cooking dinner I picked it up - as you do when you're cooking dinner............LOL.
It's going to take me a while to get the technique no doubt, but I'm determined to get it. I used to play the recorder at school, but I'm thinkin its slightly different than that.

I shall take a photo of it tomorrow for "show and tell".............LOL.

I am truly blessed. Today is a very lucky day.

A huge thank you to Monica for making my dream come true.

Thanks for popping in................luv Sandie

I have a new baby!!!!!

Friday, 22 August 2008

I have had such a beautiful morning.

A close friend asked me if I'd like to tag along with her today. She had an appointment in Warragul which just so happens where Said Simply is. Yay. Of course I wanted to tag along. Glad I did too.
I popped into to have a nice quiet cuppa with Marie - who by the way is just starting to pick up a little bit after being quiet ill with a terrible flu type bug. Hang in there Marie. I managed to make some of my Daisies while I was there too which was a nice bonus.
While I was there Nicole Finalyson also dropped in - what a bonus. She is such a passionate person and I just love to hear her stories and she and Marie always manage to make me laugh.
If you are ever in the area please drop in - the shop is just fantastic - it has such a great feel to it and its definately going places. I'm enjoying my journey so far!!!!!

Then my friend dropped in to pick me up. She was impressed with the atmosphere of the shop too. She's not really in to scrapping/cardmaking but she certainly appreciates it and loved plenty of the goodies in store. I will convert her yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We then asked Marie and Nicole where was a nice place to have lunch. We went to this gorgeous Coffee Shop come Book shop. Magnificent. We had the bestest time over a nice lunch - then we check out the books. Yummo!!!!! Beeches is the name of the store. Definately another fab place to add to the list of "must haves".

I'm off to school now. The school has had a Book Fair this week with lots of cheap bargains for the kids. Then we will all come home. Josh has footy training, fish and chips for tea and then bring on the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have some serious creating to do. I am going to be working on my Pirate cards for Said Simply. So watch out over the next week for some photos on my blog of some snippets of the cards.

That's it for now me thinks!!!!!!

Life is great.

How special!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dear little (adopted) nephew - our little Sudanese baby is now walking. I cannot believe it.
George & Medina popped in for a visit last night and put Stephen on the ground and off he took - walking!!!!!!! He is nearly 11 months old. How clever!!!!! I took lots of photos - we were all so excited and kept clapping and carrying on - he had this very cool look on his face as if he had been walking for ages. He is so adorable. I shall upload some photos tomorrow. Oh and I managed to work out how to take a video on our digital camera so I will have that forever - how special!!!!!

(The photos show him as a little newborn, to a cheeky face to his first steps - yay)

More challenges at Little Scrapbook Shop

The first challenge was to complete a "paper piecing" project. I created an owl using Kelly Panacci patterned paper, eyelets, jump rings and some prima flowers for the eyes and some buttons. I had fun with this challenge.

The second challenge was to draw inspiration from the book "Where The Wild Things Are".

So I used Autumn Leaves "Mindy's Zoo" stamps to create a jungle scene. Oh and the crown is by "october afternoon"

Thanks for popping in.

Sketch This 62: Altered Canvas

Here is this weeks Sketch Challenge 62 at Sketch This. I have used a canvas - painted white and then used a recylced piece of cardboard - covered it with green/white gingham paper, mounted it with double sided foam tape onto the gingham pp. I used a jumbo wheel by StampinUp with the baby stamp and coloured it with water colour paints. Cut it out into squares and then added some mint/pink/blue/mauve squares in cardstock with a hand drawn "stitiched" border. I also mounted these with ds foam tape. Little bit of ribbon and some buttons.

Had fun with this one.

How bizaar!!!!!

I was talking to our kids last week and explaining about my first cookbook that I was given - many moons ago!!!!! I went into detail about the colour of it and the pictures etc.

At the end of the week we arranged to meet Mum and Dad for lunch. When we were saying goodbye Mum had some boxes for of bits and pieces for our School Fete. She had one bag of goodies that she thought I might like looking through. What do you know - there in amongst everything was My First Cookbook.............I was blown away and picked it up to show the kids. They were happy for me and amazed too!!!!

Here it is.

Cark Sketch at Little Scrapbook Shop

You know there is no better way to come up with a card idea than looking at a great sketch for inspiration. Here is a card I have created tonight using a sketch at Little Scrapbook Shop for the August Cybercrop.

I have used stamps by October Afternoon - oooooh I love these. I simply used Timber Brown inkpad and a green inkpad. Hand cut scalloped edge, yummy brown/white gingham trim and staples.

It all came toghether rather quickly.

Thanks for looking.

Hope you have the bestest weekend.

2 Sketches 4 You

I have just completed a card sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You. I absolutely love the simplicity of these sketches and also love the samples that the DT come up with. Very inspiring.

Well for my take on the sketch I have gone with a little Cafe Shoppe. I have made the canopy like they do on cafes and shopps - just added some spotty pp and a hand cut scalloped edge.

I stamped the door onto green cardstock and also a window stamp that I have - I just cut the centre out so you could see the "Candy Cane Shoppe" sign which I stamped onto acetate to resemble the glass in a window. I also stamped a little window box stamp and coloured it in with water colour paints and also added some dimensional magic. Oh and I also added a little "open" sign for the door. I had heaps of fun with this one.

Here is the sketch and the card.

Josh has gone on a one night camp

Josh has gone with school to the city for a one night stop over camp. They are walking everywhere seeing the sights of the city. It should be fabbo - little cold and wet though. Sure wont stop the kids having fun. They went in by train - 1 hours ride, and then they are going to tour around.
They will return about 4 oclock tomorrow. Boy is it going to be quiet around here - the girls will love it though. LOL.

Have you seen this clip

You have to have a lookie at this clip on YouTube. It looks fab - especially the carry case.

See what you think.

Inspirational Challenge

Another challenge over at Little Scrapbook Shop was to find your favourtie mug and draw inspiration from it to make a card.

Here is my card - I have done a card using this mug before as inspiration except this time I did a different card. I was really happy how it turned out.

I used my Cuttlebug for the background mint cardstock - lightly sanded it. Then I used a set of StampinUp stamps with different inkpads and stamped onto white cardstock, punched them out with a circle punch and added some Kaisercraft bling to each centre. Added double sided foam tape behind and popped them onto lilac cardstock.

Added some lilac grossgrain ribbon and the sentiment is by StampinUp also.

There you have it.

I have just set up for people to subsribe

I have just added a bar off to the right for people to subscribe to my blog.

Can someone be really nice and see if it works and also if it only comes up once. I had NO idea what I was doing when setting it up. Very confusing for moi!!!!!

Thanks.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Look what I made last night.............after a hard day and all.

This is a little album I made last night after the biggest day - but I was determined to get it done.

It was for the challenge over at Little Scrapbook Shop. We had to create an album using a different shape other than square or rectangular. So I came up with a tree. It can actually stand up which I was impressed about after I discovered it.............LOL.

I just drew the tree, cut it from thick cardboard and added lots of bits and pieces.

As the title says "its the simple things"- so that is what I am going to add to the pages. Just little snippets of things that I love.

Here are the shots. I've gone for the good old "rustic" look - one of my fave techniques as it doesn't call for perfection - something which I'm not very good at!!!! LOL
Thanks for popping by.

What a day.........

Our day started by having to be at Josh's footy at 8.15 this morning........so much for weekend sleep-ins!!!!! It was only 5 degrees and ultra cold.
It was teaming down rain and windy as well - absolute shocker!!!! At half time a lot of the kids were struggling big time - they were actally crying that were that beside themselves. Poor things.
The coach asked the kids on the bench - Josh being one of them, who would like to go onto the ground to fill in for the kid that was coming off cold and needed a rest. Josh was the only one to put his hand up. The coach was impressed with Josh's determination to get out there and give it his best. He actually won an award for this - very proud moment that's for sure!!! He was quite chuffed with himself - so he should be.

Then we came home for a quick bite to eat and then I had to organize a party for 9 girls. It all went off well started at 2 and finished about 6 oclock. Let me tell ya - I'm one tired chicky babe.

Need to get some much deserved sleep.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Well I headed off for sunny Warragul this morning in readiness of my Card Classes at Said Simply. It was a great morning. I met some new ladies and was impressed with their skills - they walked off with a couple of cards each - it was great to see them happy with themselves.

Oh and I got to speak to Nicole Finlayson which was a bit spesh and of course the lovely Marie who is just fantastic. Thanks Marie - I thoroughly enjoyed myslef.

Another card - yay!!!!! For this one I have used Basic Grey pp, Maya Road chipboard trees. For the large tree I stamped a Poppy Ink stamp 3 times and cut it out, distressed the edges and then layered it using double sided foam tape (I would be lost without this stuff). I stamped some leaves using a Fontwerks stamp and popped on some buttons for flowers.

I've been having fun this morning

Here is a card I made this morning for Triple The Sketch. I have used my new Cuttlebug folder "frills" which I just love. I have also used StampinUp scallop punch and Baby Stamp, the giraffes are by Autumn Leaves - aren't they cute? and the pp is by Doodlebug.

Great sketch to work with so I may just have to make another card I reckon.

Thanks for looking and thanks TTS for the inspiration.
