Little Scrapbook Cybercrop

It's all been happening at Little Scrapbook Shop this weekend.

It's been all about Dr Seuss - lots of things going on.
I managed a couple of the challenges. The first one is a card challenge - we had to go by a sketch and use colours from a Dr Seuss book.

The other challenge I completed was a layout - the challenge was to use circles in any shape or form. I completed a layout with our gorgeous little godson Stephen "Welcome Little One"

I had fun with these.
Thanks for looking.

On A Mission

Our parish is currently taking part in a "Mission". It's a time to reflect and spend time thinking about your own faith. I am thoroughly enjoying it. It's nice to take the time for myself and think about where I am in my life now - especially just turning 40!!!!! I have now entered into a new chapter and I'm gunna enjoy it.
We have been learning how to take time out for ourselves to reflect on each day and how to deal with certain things that we come against in life.
Most of it you kind of know already but it is so refreshing to actually talk about and think about certain things.

Two more days to go - I always feel sad at the end of these sorts of things but renewed and refreshed at the same time.

CPS #106

I have created this card by embossing green cs with the Cuttlebug. I then used a paper piercer to pierce holes in the green card then I have sewn some metallic white thread and added small green seed beads to the stiching as well. I also used some green sequins flowers and leaves and then one of my handmade daisies for the centre. Oh I nearly forgot - I added some lacey mulberry paper to the back of the green card to soften it.

Thanks for looking.

Triple The Sketch #47

Rightio, here is my card for sketch no. 47 at Triple The Sketch
I found an old Children's Song Book and used the music from it for the background of this card "Like A Leaf Or A Feather" and then I created 2 small tags, stamped a tree stamp by October Afternoon and added some red/white gingham trim. I then added an old tape measure across the cards and sewed 3 vintage buttons over the tape.
Thanks for looking. I had fun with this one.

(P.S. You can see in the background some of the washing that I had to wash after the stinking mouse had left his cr#p)

A new day

I woke up this morning after such a huge day with a feeling of being very content. Great feeling to have.

The kids all came and jumped on our bed and we sat and talked and laughed about the great day that not only I had but our family as well.

I'm not one for big parties and was so pleased how the whole day turned out.

Today I am washing, washing and more washing. I didn't tell you that we have had HUGE troubles with mice. On Friday I discovered that they had been all through my sewing/fabric. I had to even throw some things out - disgusting creatures!!!! The smell was atrocious!!!!!!!
I was planning on getting up this morning to clean out our blanket box - which is actually a wicker chest type thingy - we could smell it yesterday but I wasn't going to drop everything on my birthday. But it got the better of my late last night and I started to clean it out - rubber gloves on and carefully lifting the blankets out - then there he was or maybe a she by the amount of little bits of paper - nesting I'm guessing - looking at me. The kids were fascinated and started to help. In the end we all had something in hand ready to catch it. Unfortunately the little devil just jumped out of the chest - gosh they can jump. So we set traps and just before we went to bed Sean caught one. We are hoping that this is the end of a long week of cleaning up.
There was a common denominator in all of this - they were into our wheat bags - you know the ones you heat in the microwave when you have aches and pains. So we have thrown them all out and I am never getting them again - I can't believe the amount of cr#p I had to clean up!!!! EWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

Nuff said I reckon.

Better things to do. Might do some creating this afternoon.

Wow - what a day!!!!!!!

What an awesome day I've had today. It has been jam packed since the early hours of this morning.
I had a cuppa in bed and received my birthday cards from Sean and the kids - they always bring a tear to my eye.
Then we all had breakfast together and then it was full on.

We had a bbq lunch with my family which was lots of fun - lots of great yummy food too. There is so much food left over I reckon we'll be eating it for a few days - hey you've gotta luv no cooking though!!!!!!

Then we had the - "PIE FIGHT". It was unreal. The kids and I all lined up and threw a pie in the face at each other - lots of giggles, squeals and laughing. I cannot belive the day finally arrived and I got my wish of having a pie fight. Sean filmed the whole thing so I shall have a look and upload something tomorrow. This little black duck is a little pooped with trying to cut and paste right now.

After the pie fight we cleaned up - firstly we all stood in a row and Sean hosed us off which was a big shocker - the water was freezing but we couldn't walk inside dripping with cream........LOL.

We all had showers and then another friend popped in with a beautiful sponge with stawberries and cream. How nice!!! I gotta tell you I have been very spoilt. Very lucky girl!!!!!

Off to mass - Sean read at mass tonight and got up at the end of mass and everyone sang happy birthday to me.............how embarassing. They wanted me to stand up but I was happy sitting in my seat trying to keep cool - the blood rushed to my head all of a sudden!!!!! LOL.

Then after mass, Sean's mum and dad looked after the kids while Sean and I went to a beautiful Italian Restaurant. The meal was absolutely divine. We also had a nice drinkies.
We were planning earlier in the day to go to the cinema but the session times were hopeless so we took our time instead to enjoy our dinner/date.

All in all a very memorable birthday.

Thank you to all of my on-line buddies who left me a comment in the last post - I really appreciate it.

Well this little black "old" duck is off to bed very soon.

Luv ya...................Sandie

Her head spun around quickly and she said "are you, are you really mum?".

Tammy then asked "do you think you'll like it mum?". LOL.
