Transition Day

Em and Tam had their Transition Day at their Secondary College for next year.
I dropped them off at 8.45 this morning and picked them up at 12 o'clock. They came out smiling so that's gotta be good!!!!
I think I was more nervous and anxious than they were. It was a huge decision to make to change them over to this school. We originally had them booked into another school close by but decided it wasn't quite right - so we went with our gut feeling. I filled in time walking around the shops and stopped to have a much needed cuppa. I found some treasures in the op-shops and then it was time to pick them up. They had 3 lessons - English, Maths and Geography - Geography being interesting - so they tell me. Sounds like the teachers were nice and showed them some "magic tricks"...........all in all a good day.

Came home to one thing after the other thing going wrong - minor things on reflection but at the time - huge!!!!!
Sean overfilled the coffee maker with water so the bench needed everything cleared, wiped down and all put back. Josh decided he would help with the cooking and opened the bottle of cream - half of it ended up on the floor...........arghhhhhhhhh and then just in the middle of me cooking tea one of the kids found a trail of ants going half way around my kitchen...........nooooooooooooooooooooo....................not now!!!!!! So big clean ups all round.
I'm done now. I have created my Day 2 card - shall take a photo in the morn when the light is better.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.

On the 2nd Day Of Christmas..............

................today's challenge is to create a christmas card with 2 different patterned papers and 2 tags. You have today to create it - but if you're falling behind that's ok. Just make sure you take a photo of your card/s and leave a comment to the appropriate post. So if you didn't manange to get Day 1 done - that's ok, just leave a comment to Day 1 post and I will cut and paste your photo into that Day's post for you.

Look forward to seeing what you create.

Luv Sandie

(Aga has cleverly created 2 tags - one on top of the other - well done Aga. Vicky has used some earthy tones for her card - its nice for a change from the traditional colours - well done!!!

Have just added my card - you may recall earlier in the year I completed a sketch challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You - using a cupcake and recipe, well this time I have added a plum pudding and have created my own pp by cutting and pasting some old recipes, photocopying them and then I used a tea bag to dye to paper. Just added Lyn's and Leesa's cards)

My last post to Remember When Blog

Well it is official - today was my last day with Remember When. I have had stacks of fun creating goodies with the RW Laser Cuts. As I am trying to get my Handmade Daisies business up and going I feel I wont have the time that I'd like to put into creating things for Remember When.
So that Kathy and the girlies - thanks heaps - its been fun!!!!!!
Here is my last card that I shared on the Remember When Blog today.
I used the cute little deer laser cut and went for a vintage type card. (And here we go again - the stupid image is sideways - I reckon this must be a blogger problem because its saved as landscape..............arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Oh well or should I say "oh deer!!!!" LOL)

Want to win some Blog Candy?

Well then you need to head over to Cindy's Blog and check out her new laser cut designs. They are all gorgeous. She has a fairy and a castle up for grabs as her giveaway.
All you need to do is leave a comment - it doesn't get much easier than that.
Good luck.

On the first day of Christmas..............

Ok girlies - here we go. We are off and running.

Today is the first day of my "12 Days of Christmas" challenge. We are going to create a card today with "A partridge in a pear tree". So I would like to see a bird/owl etc in a tree - you will need to make this a christmas card so the design etc is up to you.

I am out this morning but will work on mine when I get home.

I look forward to seeing some different cards. When you're done - leave a comment to this post and a link to your card. If you don't have a blog, drop me an email with the photo of your card and I will pop it on my blog for you.

Thanks for joining in.

Luv Sandie
(I just uploaded Lyn's gorgeous pink/green combo card - how cute is it? Well done Lyn. And the little owl is my card. I have used puff paint added to his hat - you let it dry and then use the heat gun to make it puff up - good fun. The stamps are by branch stamp and owl stamp are by HeroArts and the "be merry" is by StampinUp. Just added Vicky's card - she has cleverly added a little choir and an owl in a tree - too cute, and just now I have received Aga's fantastic card - "happy holidays" luv the colour combo - great work Aga. Just adding Leesa's card)

Come and join in "12 Days Of Christmas"

Starting tomorrow, I will be counting down "12 Days of Christmas". Come and join me as I create a new card every day for 12 days in the lead up to the end of November.
I am going to create a Christmas card with a different theme each day.
I will post the new theme each day.

Day 1 starts tomorrow so if you would like to join in just let me know.

If you complete all 12 cards there will be a little Christmas Pressie at the end of the 12 days. It would be good to see your creations at the end of each day however if at some stage you fall behind that is ok. I will allow a couple of extra days at the end of the 12 days for you to catch up and to be eligible to enter for the prize.

So see you tomorrow.

Luv Sandie

Merry Christmas

Here is a card I created last night for Little Scrapbook Shop Cybercrop. It was created from a sketch. I have added gold brad stars, hand stitching and one of my Handmade Daisies.

The pp is by Pink Paislee - one of my fave brands of pp.

Card Class Friday at Said Simply

Gosh I had a ball on Friday with my card classes at Warragul. It was a hit - I had 10 girls come along which kept me very busy. Huge thanks to Marie for helping out and my trusty offsider Leesa. Couldn't have done it without you girlies!!!!! Thanks heaps.

We created 3 cards - I made up 6 cards with the new Basic Grey range - which I just love and then the girls took a vote as to which cards they wanted to make. I also included a triangular card which is similar to the one I have just had published in For Keeps Creative Paper. The girls all had fun - there were about 3 newbies and I must say they did an excellent job with so many people around them - although that is sometimes good as everyone can help out in one way or another.

I have been booked for Saturday 6th December for the next class at Said Simply which I am really excited about. It will be good as a few of the girlies will be able to leave their kiddies with their husbands so they can happily create - you've gotta luv that!!!!!!

So I'll stop yaking now and just share the cards with you.

Thanks for dropping by.

Sad News

I have a heavy heart today. My friend just rang me to tell me her brother died. He was only 48 I think. He had cancer. The doctors told him originally that he would have 6 months to live, then it went to 6 weeks and in the end it was only about 2 weeks. Such a sad day.
May he rest in peace.

Thinking of you and your family.

Luv Sandie

Just a reminder

My Weekly Sketch Challenge No. 8 is up and running. No cards to speak of yet. Tammy is working on her card as we speak - good on ya Tam. Just remind mum to get moving too would ya!!!!!!!!

The challenge is to create a Christmas Card and to include some sparkle or "bling".

Look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
(Just added Vicky's great card - how cool is it? Way cool!!!! Thanks Vicky.

Girls Day In

As I have been flat out with the Fete this year I thought it might be a good idea to hold the Girls Day In fundraising day at school - I am a bit over organizing things so I just made it a casual, relaxed morning at school today. It was so nice just to sit and chat and eat lovely things.
Everyone brought a plate of food along to share, we had cuppas and some little giveaways and we more importantly raised some money for womens cancer.

Very bus day, but a good one.

Luv Sandie

(It is also Remberance Day here in Australia today - Lest We Forget all the men and woman who fought for our country)

Had a fantastic day today

Sean has his "Tool Sale" today in Hawthorn - its all old/used tools - he and Josh go every six months I think it is. Anyway, us girls always tag along but we get to go shopping on Glenferrie Rd. We had the bestest time especially as all the Christmas goodies are out in the shops. There is one paticular shop that never seems to be opened the last few times we have been there - but today it was. It's one of those house/giftware type places. Everything was sparkling away - just lovely. We just walked up and down either side of the street and had the nicest time. Another place we dropped into was "Supply And Demand" - hello - this place is fantastic. Plenty of bargains. If you needed a present then this is the place to go. I had to stop myself several times. I ended up buying the most gorgeous little basket - I need to take a photo tomorrow to show you, some christmas paper and some decorative felt which was only $2 a roll. Cool as.

After we'd shopped we caught up with Sean and Josh again and had a nice latte and the kids had a milkshake. I really needed today - it was great!!!!!

Hope you had a great day.

Looks what's at Craft Queen

A few weeks ago I completed a set of cards for Nicole at Craft Queen for a Christmas Card Kit.

You can see my cards here

http://www.craftqueen.com.au/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=3700

Thanks for looking.

Luv Sandie
(I have also included the shots that I took before I delivered them. My fave card is the green/white one. The kid is fabulous and there is heaps of ribbon - I still have some left over to use. I also had a giggle to myself - if you look carefully at the card on the top left - you can see that the green/white spotty ribbon is actually not stuck down - I forgot about that - but stuck it down after taking the photo............LOL)

Weekly Sketch No.8

Righto - here we have Weekly Sketch No.8. For this sketch I would like you to make it a Christmas Card - obviously I have sketched 2 Christmas Trees but you could make it anything you like. I would also like to see some "sparkle" or "bling" somewhere on the card.

Leave a comment to this blog and a link to your card and I will share your creations with everyone.

Thanks for joining in.
