RECIPE OF THE WEEK - New Challenge

Ok I'm setting myself and anyone else who would like to join, a little challenge.

I'm calling my new challenge "RECIPE OF THE WEEK".  Each week (or most weeks) I will give you a new recipe to follow. I will name the ingredients and all you need to do is  - mix it up.  Add whatever you like.

I want to you to search for some scraps of patterend paper in the following colours

pink
orange
yellow
brown

AND

find a stamp set that you simply HAD to have and haven't got around to using it before.

Now - go ahead and make a card or even a set of cards.  It can be anything at all and any size.  Maybe you'd like to make some mini cards. You can add anything else at all as long as these few bits and bobs are included in there somewhere.

What you have to do is take a photo of your materials before you start and then a photo of your finished cards.

Hope you can join in - invite your friends to join in.

Don't forget to leave a post and link in this post.

Scrapz Biz Noteworthy Challenge 034

Last week's challenge over at Scrapz Biz was to create some cards with a simple sentiment - whether it be a stamp or a die-cut sentiment (not a made up one)
So these are the cards that I created using my fave range once again - October Afternoon. I have used die-cut journalling tags (even the shells once you have pushed the journalling tags out - I just couldn't handle throwing them out either).
Thanks for looking.

Looking for a sketch challenge?

If you are looking for a sketch challenge - then jump on over to Scrapville.

I created a card for the June Challenge

I created this card using my all time fave papers - October Afternoon - I used all different ranges from OA. Turned it into a rustic looking card distressing it with ink, ripping it and scrunching it.

Weekly Challenge at Scrapz Biz

I completed these 2 cards for a weekly challenge over at Scrapz Biz.
Our challenge was to create a card with a decorative edge. I used a bracket stamp to create the second card and the first card (also using my new Daisy colour - "teal") was created using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.
Unfortunately due to our internet server being down last night - arghhhhh, I didn't get to load them into the gallery on time - however, I still wanted to include them as I was pleased how they turned out.

I have used my all time fave pp - October Afternoon.
Thanks for taking a look.
Hope you have the bestest day.

12 Days Of Christmas

While I'm having a "12 Weeks Of Christmas Challenge", over at ScrapzBiz they are having a "12 Days" of Christmas challenge.
So here are my entries
We had to create a little box made from patterned paper - to which I just had to add one of my "peppermint" Handmade Daisies with a great red/white gingham brad.
The other challenge was to "recycle" - hello - one of my fave things to do.
So I used up some of the many empty ribbon spools I have in my craft mess - I have painted, added patterned paper and all sorts of things. For the top of the tree I added a mini dolly peg to which I stuck on a gorgeous little felt/wooden star.
It was easy, fun and a great little present to give to a family member - or perhaps you could just keep it yourself - now there's a thought!!!! LOL.
Those of you who know me, know that I'm no perfectionist so for this tree I have gone for the slightly "wonky" look - I dont like straight lines, anything perfect really so this little tree is a little "tower of pisa" you might say............LOL.
(Must make mention that I have seen something similar somewhere - just not sure where. I think form memory it had photos on it. I have had this idea in my head for a while now and thought I'd give it a go- the ideas are endless really. I can never thrown my spools out because I have lots of ideas to use them - just never get around to it....LOL....typical!!!!)

Looking back……………..

Just wanted to show you some quick and easy cards that I have made over the last year. Thought this may help get you enthused about making your own Christmas Cards.

I was especially pleased how the first card turned out – I just used a cheap candy cane from the $2 Shop for the “J”.

I was also happy how the orange/earthy cards turned out – these were published in Creative Paper Magazine last Christmas. These cards also came together really quickly.

I Can Sing A Rainbow!!!!!!!!!

It's World Card Making day in Australia over at Little Scrapbook Shop

We were given 3 challenges if we wanted to take up the challenge.

The first challenge was to create a set of 3 Birthday Cards

wcmdsetof3birthdaycards birthdaywish1
birthdaywish2 birthdaywishes3

The second challenge was to follow a sketch challenge - one of my fave challenges to do!!!!! I decided to go “round” and create a circle card. I was pleased how it turned out for a change.

LBOSSketch139 wcmdsketchchallenge
wcmdsketchchallengea

And the third challenge was to create a Christmas card or 2 or 3 or more – it was up to ourselves. So I thought I’d create a “rainbow” set of cards.

Lately I have been making a lot of square cards from A4 cardstock. When I cut the square card that leaves me with all of these little offcuts which I just cant throw out. Then I came up with the idea to use some of them on these cards.

I kept these cards fairly simple - I used my Spellbinders Label Die set to create the shape and then stamped a Christmas Tree stamp by Kelly Panacci using brown ink. I added embellishments to each card - ribbons, buttons, bling, metal embellishments and other bits and pieces. I was happy how the rainbow turned out. I have to say these came together really quickly. You should give it a go.
