Some Sad News

Received some sad news about a great friend that I have met throughout the Forums.

JUST HAD TO BRAG.................

I thought this news deserved its own POST........................I made the cover of Australian Paper Crafts Magazine Issue 66. I was stunned when I dropped into the newsagents today, just went to pick up the paper for Sean and thought I would see if the latest issue was out yet. Sure enough there it was. I knew I was going to be in this issue, just not on the front cover. My little heart was beating out of control. Very chuffed.
When I receive my free copy of the mag I shall pop a photo up on my blog.

Life Has Been Rather Busy

Well, my life has been rather busy lately.............can't really put my finger on what.......I just know I've been flat out!!!!!
I have been creating some projects for Australian Paper Crafts mag for Christmas, I have submitted them so am waiting to hear from them as far as publication goes.
Fingers crossed.
The kids got their Term 2 School Reports today which were great - just have to work on Tammy's chatting in the class, otherwise all cool.
Looking forward to the school holidays - the kids finish up at 2.10 tomorrow so that will be nice to start winding down a little.

The Things That Make Me Go Hmmmm

I ran out of room for comments by the time I uploaded all the photos so here it goes.

I saw this paper bag album idea on an american site some time ago and have always wanted to give it a go. So after some frustration of trying to work out the folding idea I completed this little album yesterday. It was reasonably easy to put together.
It contains just some of the things that I luv. Ribbons, ric-rac, buttons, suffolk puffs, fabric, felt, doodling, stamps , flowers, brads, tags, cakes, apples...... I really had lots of fun making this and keep picking it up for a little look - it makes me feel happy.

My Little "Love" Album

This is a little album I made using the outer

chipboard frame from the large Heidi Swapp

chipboard letters. I had used the innter letters

for a layout and had the rest leftover and thought about turning them into a mini album.

I used different coloured paper behind each letter and then added basic grey "phoebe" pp and then embellished to the max. For the reverse side of each letter I added the BG pp and then popped a few different embellishments over this. In the "l" picture it shows the book being bound by the ribbon - I have since changed this and popped a couple of rings through and then tied the ribbon on - that's working a lot better

Miracles Are For Those Who Believe

Here is one of 12 layouts that I completed
for the competition over at Little Scrapbook Shop.
We had to complete 12 layouts from 2006 - a look back on the year. It was a great challenge. It was sponsored by 12 different companies.
This layout using Urban Lily papers was my
favourite. The photo is of my nephew, Kai.
His parents were told that he may never walk,
but here he is on Mothers Day 2006(he was 3yrs
old standing up taking his first steps - the best
present anyone could receive. The quote I have used is -
"miracles are for those who believe".....someone
said this to me a couple of months ago and I say it
to myself everyday - I always believed Kai would
walk someday, somehow.....now he actually runs
around. He truly is our little miracle!!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Well girlies, Happy Mother's Day to all of you today and special
thoughts and prayers to all those mum's in heaven.
Kids greeted me nice and early this morning with handmade cards and special little goodies from the school Mother's Day Stall.
We are off to mum and dad's this afternoon so that should
be nice. Its a little fresh here this morning but its going
to be a lovely day.

Oh forgot to mention that I have a set of cards in the latest issue of Australian Paper Crafts magazine and I have just sent my Little Green Dress off for publication too..........very exciting.

What a week.....

Well its been a busy week girlies........sorry I haven't popped in for a while now.

Monday was our 13th Wedding Anniversary. Sean had to work during the day and it was the kids day off from school....so hence, not much doing during the day. However, my friend dropped around for a cuppa and gave us a lovely card. On the inside of the card it read "to the lovebugs".....I just loved that!!!!! They gave us 2 coffee/cake vouchers at our favourtie coffee shop. So Sean finished work a little earlier and my friend offered to look after the kids so we could grab a coffee......and the cake of course!!!!!!
It was lovely. Sean mentioned to the girl at the shop that it was our anniversary, she wished us well which was nice, when the coffees came out she had decorated the saucer with chocolate sauce lovehearts.........very nice touch.

Wednesday was our Mother's Day Luncheon fundraiser at a beautiful old fashioned restaurant at Berwick. Soup/Main/Sweets..........very yummy and a great day had by all.

Stars last night, not so good but then I have been doing a lot of socialising..............LOL.

Fish and Chips tonight and then tomorrow is Sean's 38th Birthday..........may go out for another cuppa...........we shall see.

Had a great day today!!!!!

Well girlies, I had a great day today.

The morning was taken up with typing out instructions for My Little Dress/Handbag which is to be published in APC magazine in a few months. I figured out it was a lot easier making the dress than actually having to work out dimensions of dress etc........LOL.
The I popped into the florist where I sell my cards - Flowers by Jo. I hadn't been in there since Valentine's Day so since then I have sold 27 cards which is pretty good....so I collect $108.00 next week.....that will come in handy.
Popped into the newsagents before picking up the kids from school to find another set of my cards in APC #64 - nice surprise.

Weighed in at STARS tonight and lost 300grams which is a bonus for me lately.
Sold one of my cards to one of the new girlies there, she didn't know I made and sold cards and was rather interested....so that was nice.

Planning to go shopping tomorrow, hopefully for clothes......they are feeling the pinch lately, so fingers crossed I can find something decent.

i"ve Been Tagged

Ok, here I go - i have found out from a few people that I have been tagged. Well this is all new to me so here I go.........a few things about me.


1. I am 38, married to my best friend Sean - our anniversary is on the 30th April and that will be 13 years up - wow that's flown.
2. I am a stay at home mum to 3 great kids - Emily who turns 12 in August, Tammy turns 11 in September and Josh turns 9 in November.
3. My no.1 passion is to make/sell/give handmade cards I have had several published in Stamping & Papercraft and Australian Paper Crafts magazines.
4. I am a Piscean and I am a romantic at heart to the point of being ridiculous....oh well!!!!
5. I worked in the National Bank for nearly 10 years (where I met Sean) and haven't returned to the work force just yet. Waiting for the kids to be self sufficent although Em is off to secondary college next year and that wont come cheap so may have to find part time job....pooh cack.
6. One of my favourite things to do is to go to a beautiful cafe, we have a fantastic one in Pakenham on Lakeside and to share a latte and a big FAT piece of cake.
7. I have PCOS and find it to rule my life - I should lose weight for health reasons although the d isease is partly to blame for weight gain......hmmmmmm.
8. I luv to make people happy and try to be happy and positive myself, but we all know we have those days....but today is a good one, so I'm rolling with that!!!!!.

Well I think that will do for now - don't know how many secrets I was supposed to share but that will do for now anyway....LOL.

My Heidi Grace Competition Win

Here we are - this is my prize that I won in a
recent Heidi Grace Competition through Australian
Paper Crafts Magazine. I had to say in less than
25 words what my favourite HG range was.
I stated that the Vineyard Range (mauves/greens)
was my fave, and I won..........I got a phone call
from Jessica about 2 weeks ago to say that I'd won
I was so shocked...picked it up from the post office
yesterday...couldn't believe how much was in there
chipboard, flowers, ribbons, pins, buttons, stickers
vellum......all sorts of goodies.
