FIRST CHALLENGE: TAKE A PHOTO OF EACH OF THE IMAGES/PHOTOS OF THE MONTH ON YOUR OLD CALENDAR. WE NEED THESE FOR BEFORE AND AFTER SHOTS OF OUR CREATIONS.
THE IDEA IS TO PICK A CALENDAR WITH SOME BRIGHT AND CHEERY PHOTOS - WE ARE GOING TO CREATE SOMETHING USING THESE PHOTOS SO IT NEEDS TO LOOK GOOD!!!!

(Just adding Mary's cards and layout. She got to straight away to create these goodies with her old calendar - thanks Mary. You've done a great job. The top shot is of the leftover pieces - great job Mary, and the second shot is the original photo of the calendar page)
Dont forget to pay Deb a visit at her blog - check the comments of this blog for the link to her creation. Great job Deb.

Anyone need a napkin??????????????

Hmmm.............you might say.

Well pop back in tomorrow. I have something a little different to share with you all about napkins.

It involves a little bit of fun so be sure to pop back in to see what it's all about.

Scrapz Biz Biggest Loser Day 16 - Use Multi Photos

Well Day 16's challenge - was just that - a challenge!!!!! I usually only use 1 photo on my layouts and we needed to challenge ourselves to use multiple photos.
I opted to make a collage of photos when I had them printed so I just popped them on the layout.
I used rubons for the lefthand side and added some of my handmade daisies too.

I love green and black.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day 13 Buttons

DAy 13 - we HAD to use buttons - gosh that will be hard, especially being the Button Queen and all.............LOL.

Decided to do a layout of our friend's daughter - she is a twin - she has a twin brother. They are the cutest, adorable little people, and I just love this photo.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day 14 Use Ribbon Scraps

Day 14 - use up those little bits of ribbon.

I decided to use some brown ribbon to go with this gorgeous photo of Stephen. Don't ya just love his cute little face?
I kept this layout fairly simple but was glad with the result.

Scrapz Biggest Loser - Day 10 Same Layout Different Look

Ok - for this challenge we had to use the basic layout and create 2 different looks. Just an easy way to create a quick layout.
I chose to create these 2 layouts - one with our miracle boy "Kai Jacob" and his little sister Logan.

Scrapz Biggest Loser - Day 3 Scraplift Yourself

Day 3 and we had to scraplift ourself. Great idea as all the hard work has already been done as far as coming up with the overall design.

So I chose this layout of our gorgeous godson, Stephen when he was only days old.
I then used a photo of Josh "Our Boy" to re-create the layout with Josh's baby photo.

I just love this layout idea with the ripped paper.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day 7 - Punches/Die Cuts

Day 7's task - use punches, die cuts and/or embossing folders to create embellishments for a layout or cards.
I made one separate card and a set of cards.
I used some pages from an old book, cardstock, mega punches - circle/oval scallop, SU scallop punch, Martha Stewart butterfly punch and McGill "Robin" punch. Don't ya just love the little birdie punch? I've had him for a while now but hadn't dont much with him. For the set of 3 cards I used him to punch directly from the old page, and the other 2 cards I punched him out and attached to cards using ds foam tape.
There you go.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day - Stamps

Somebody say stamps????? LOL. I think I could be the Queen of stamps somehow!!!!!
Day 8 calls for stamping only - no patterned papers.
I created this set of cards using several stamps. I opted to go for the same overall look and then just add one simple emellishment to each card to make it differ from the other.
I have used Unity stamp "Bingo" which I covered the top with a stamped Hero Arts stripes stamp in green ink and then I stamped some old fashioned alpha letters and punched them out and mounted to each card where "bingo" would normally read.
I then stamped the friends stamp which happens to be a photo stamp - it normally has 3 girls on it but I only needed 2 for the width of the bingo card. I added a stamped flourishy type stamp to the bottom of each bingo card too which is by Kelly Panacci.

Other stamps used are by Grace Taylor and Sassafrass Lass.

The only non stamped items are a button, 2 brads and some Kaiser Pearls.
Thanks for looking.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day 1

Day 1's challenge was to FIRST - clean up our desk. Now this was a mammoth task for me as I had all sorts of goodies leftover from the dash to complete my Christmas cards - we are talking a couple of days to sort through everything.
Secondly, the challenge was to use up bits and pieces from our clean up to create a layout and it also had to include 3 flowers - I naturally recovered some Handmade Daisies which were buried on my desk.
thanks for looking.

Pop The Kettle On!!!

I was asked a little while before Christmas to make a couple of cards. There is a little story behind it.
My friend's Aunt was quite friendly with a gentleman - they used to chat away and ask each other to "pop the kettle on". Anyway, the gentleman passed away and the Aunt was left without the regular catch ups for cuppas. My friend decided to sent her Aunt a card each year as a little reminder.

So she went looking everywhere for cards with a kettle on them but failed. She thought she'd ask me to see what I could come up with.
So I created these cards (only just found them on my computer) so I thought I'd share them with you. Fairly simple but my friend absolutely loved them as I'm sure her Aunt will.

Thanks for looking.
Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day 5

Righto – Day 5’s challenge was to create a set of cards using scraps and at least one piece of chipboard on one card.

I think my fave card here would have to be the one for my nephew’s birthday “Kai” is his name and I used the “@” chipboard piece for the “a”.

chip1 chip2
chip3 chip4
chip5 chip6

I have used some old Scenic Route papers and Scenic Route chipboard – I have had these in my stash for yonks so it was nice to use them up. It’s a bit sad that they are no longer available either – Scenic Route finished up in 2009. Shame.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day 6

Funny how I’ve gone with a pattern with the challenges – Day 2, 4 6 – oh well.

Day 6 calls for us to create our own embellishments and cut them out using our good old basic tools – scissors and craft knives.

I created some very simple cards but I was pleased how they turned out.

I hand drew all of the flowers, tags, buttons, gingham ribbon, grass, clouds and scalloped trims. I painted them with watercolours using my aqua brush and then cut them out using my trust scissors. I have to say that one of my fave techniques is cutting so this was fun.

Scrapz Biggest Loser Day 4

For this challenge we needed to use of scraps of patterned paper to create a Patchwork Layout.

I used K&Company “Carolyn Gavin” pp which I just happen to love.

I just love this photo of Emily – she looks very relaxed – and very cute.

I kept this layout pretty simple really and I was pleased how it turned out. Scraps of paper, some doodling, buttons, ribbon, old tape measure and a stamped ticket – that’s it!!!

Scrapz Biggest Loser at Scrapz Biz

I have been joining in the fun over at Scrap Biz. They are holding a Biggest Loser comp everyday it’s been running since January 1 til January 20. Plenty of great things happening.

The main idea is to “use it”, “lose it” and “move it”. Use up those scraps of paper, cardstock etc, Lose the goods you don’t use anymore or never have and move things – tidy things that sort of stuff. It also incorporates some good things for the body and mind – do some incidental exercising, eat healthily, drink water. So all in all its a great challenge. Join in if you like.

Here is my challenge for Day 2 – Origami Box and matching card set

This was stacks of fun.
